The Egyptian Museum, situated in the Tahirr Square in Cairo.
- The museum was first built in Boulak, but in 1891, it was moved to Giza Palace of ‘Ismail Pasha’ which housed the antiques that were later moved to the present building.
- There are 107 halls in the museum. At the ground floor there are huge statues. The upper floor houses small statues, jewels and Tutankhamen treasures.
- It is the largest Egyptian antiques museum in the world and houses about 250,000 antique pieces covering the whole history of ancient Egypt, which extends over the past five thousand years.
