- Narayan Sarovar, one of the five holy lakes mentioned in Shrimad Bhagavat, is a sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus.
- The word literally translates as the lake of Narayan (Lord Vishnu).
- The land is replete with pilgrim sites with temples dedicated to Shri Trikamraiji, Laxminarayan, Govardhannathji, Dwarkanath, Adinarayan, Ranchodraiji and Laxmiji, built by the wife of Maharao Deshalji II.
