- Modhera Temple, a grand sandstone monument dedicated to sun god, was built by King Bhimdev of the Solanki dynasty in the year 1026.
- Elaborate stone carvings bedight every part of the temple.
- One of the main attractions of the temple is a large rectangular stepped tank called Suryakunda.
- A perfect work of geometry, the tank has 108 miniature shrines carved in between the steps inside the tank.
