Mallikarjuna Temple, Pattadakal, Karnataka

Mallikarjuna Temple similar in appearance and style with Virupaksha Temple but comparatively smaller,  in Pattadakal was built by King Vikramaditya’s second queen Trailokyamahadevi during 7th century.

The Mallikarjuna Temple has Dravidian style of architecture and constructed to commemorate King’s victory over the Pallavas.
Standing next to the Virupaksha Temple, this ancient temple is known for its beautifully carved lively figures on its walls and the huge square pillars in sand stone.
