Snake Park: It is in Pune since 1986. The park has a collection of a variety of reptiles, birds and others. The special attraction is the six-year-old, nine feet long King Cobra. Temples of Lord Shiva, Ganesha, Vishnu and Kartikeya, Goddess Parvati are also there near the park.

The Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, commonly known as the Rajiv Gandhi Zoo, is located in Katraj near the city of Pune, India. It is managed by the Pune Municipal Corporation. The (53 ha) zoo 130 acres is divided into 3 parts: an orphanage of animals, a snake park and a zoo, and includes a 42-acre (17 ha) lake (Lake Katraj).
History
In 1953, the Pune Municipal Corporation established a Peshwe Park in about 7 acres (2.8 ha), where Madhavrao Peshwe had established a private collection in 1870. Located in the heart of the city at the foot of the hills of Parvati, this zoo exhibits animals in traditional cages.
In 1986, Mr. Neelam Kumar Khaire (the first director of the park), with the assistance of the Pune Municipal Corporation, created the Katraj Snake Park in the land that would become the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park.
In 1997, in order to create a more modern zoo according to the guidelines of the Central Zoo Authority of India, the town selected a site in Katraj and began developing a new zoo. The zoo opened in 1999 as Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, and initially includes only the snake park, sambars, spotted deer and monkeys. Although it was not until 2005, all animals were transferred Peshwe Park finally the new site, and Peshwe park was closed.

Animals
This zoo has a good collection of reptiles, mammals and some birds. The zoo has a white tiger and a male tiger called "Tanaji". Other mammals at the zoo include leopards, sloth, sambhars, barking deer, black deer, peacocks, monkeys and elephants. Reptiles as Indian rock python, cobra, snake, snakes and crocodiles Indians. Amphibians such as the Indian star tortoise have at zoos.
The snake park has a large collection of snakes, reptiles, birds and turtles. There are over 160 species of snakes, including a nine feet long King Cobra. Information about snakes is provided in Braille, as well as more conventional formats, and the park includes a library. The snake park has organized many festivals and snake snake awareness programs to clarify doubts and fears destroy the species. During Nagpanchami, Katraj Snake Park in Pune organizes programs to discourage the mistreatment of snakes.
